Bob Anderson

Staff Attorney - Iowa

Robert Anderson was born in Los Angeles on May 12, 1950, and experienced a defining spiritual transformation in July 1963 at a Billy Graham Crusade in Los Angeles.

He earned his degree from California State University, Fullerton in 1974 and was admitted to the State Bar of California on December 12, 1983.

Over the course of his legal career, Anderson has successfully handled a wide range of complex and high-stakes cases. His victories include defending three pro-life protesters in an Iowa criminal trial, prevailing before two state supreme courts, and securing favorable outcomes in serious criminal and family law matters—including cases involving allegations of rape and kidnapping, a potential 25-year sentence that was ultimately dismissed, and a contested move-away custody case involving an only child. His work reflects a consistent commitment to navigating some of life’s most difficult and consequential legal challenges.

Alongside his legal practice, he has faithfully served in pastoral ministry, shepherding congregations in Providence, Rhode Island, and Huntington Beach, California.

In the fall of 2003, Anderson founded the Christian Legal Aid Office in Orange County, California, where he served as Executive Director and President. Through this initiative, he built strong partnerships with organizations such as the Orange County Rescue Mission, the Sheepfold, and Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, providing pro bono legal services in litigation, family law, and bankruptcy to individuals in need.

From 2004 through December 2006, he taught Torts, Civil Procedure, Evidence, and directed the Legal Aid Clinic at Trinity School of Law. During this same period, he founded and served as President of the Orange County chapter of the Christian Legal Society.

In December 2006, he relocated to Iowa, where he continued practicing law while maintaining his legal work in California.

Anderson has been married since 1980 and is the proud father of four adult children and grandfather to five grandchildren.
