SMS Terms and Conditions

These SMS Terms and Conditions govern the Pacific Justice Institute Text Alerts program (the “Program”), operated by Pacific Justice Institute (“PJI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit legal defense organization. By opting in to the Program you agree to these terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.
1. Program description
The Program sends informational and promotional text messages from Pacific Justice Institute to supporters who have opted in. Messages may include legal and case updates, religious freedom and parental rights news, event invitations and reminders, calls to action, and opportunities to support PJI’s work. Messages may be sent as SMS or MMS.
2. How to opt in
You can join the Program by submitting the sign-up form at pacificjustice.org/text-alerts and checking the box that confirms you agree to receive text messages from Pacific Justice Institute, or by providing your mobile number and express written consent on another PJI form, event registration, or donation page that offers text alerts. Consent to receive text messages is never required as a condition of making a donation or receiving any service from PJI.
3. Message frequency
Message frequency varies. We typically send no more than four messages per month, although frequency may increase around major cases, events, or year-end giving.
4. Cost
Message and data rates may apply. PJI does not charge for the Program, but your mobile carrier’s standard messaging and data rates apply to every message you send or receive.
5. How to opt out
You can cancel at any time. Reply STOP to any message you receive from us. After you send STOP, we will send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and you will receive no further messages from the Program. To rejoin, sign up again at pacificjustice.org/text-alerts or reply START to a previous message.

7. Privacy
We respect your privacy. Your mobile phone number, opt-in status, and consent records are used only to operate the Program. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, and we never sell, rent, or lease your mobile information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
8. Supported carriers
The Program is available on major U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, U.S. Cellular, and others. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to effective transmission by your carrier, and PJI is not responsible for delays or failures in delivery.
9. Program availability
The Program is currently available only to residents of the United States with a U.S. mobile number. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your state, to participate.
10. Changes to the Program
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Program, or update these terms, at any time. The current terms will always be posted on this page. Your continued participation after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Disclaimer
The Program is provided on an “as is” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, PJI disclaims all warranties, express or implied, regarding the Program. Messages sent through the Program are general information and do not constitute legal advice, and receiving them does not create an attorney-client relationship with Pacific Justice Institute.
