Nilab received her Juris Doctorate from Southwestern University School of Law in 2003. She is a licensed attorney in the state of California. In addition to her law degree, Nelo holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Irvine.
Nelo has practiced law in both the public and private sectors in the areas of family law and special education law. She believes in being a strong advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves. While serving as Deputy Department Counsel for the Department of Child Support Services, she handled numerous child support hearings daily, as well as contempt and paternity hearings. She is also a certified mediator and has assisted many families reach agreements in the area of child support.
After reading about California churches suing to challenge COVID-19 restrictions, Nelo was drawn to PJI’s mission. She feels blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of PJI’s efforts to defend religious freedom and parental rights.
