Religious Freedom Organization Expands to San Diego

San Diego, CA – The Pacific Justice Institute, a nationally-recognized legal organization that defends religious liberties, is announcing the launch of a San Diego Law Clinic.

The San Diego clinic will offer law students an opportunity to gain practical experience working on some of the thousands of religious freedom issues that Pacific Justice Institute handles each year. Students from the University of San Diego Law School and Thomas Jefferson Law School, among others, will work under the direction of longtime PJI affiliate attorney Pete Lepiscopo and former state Senator Bill Morrow, of the firm Lepiscopo and Morrow.

PJI President Brad Dacus commented on the expansion, “We are so thankful and thrilled to add a new office in San Diego to our existing offices in Sacramento, the Bay Area, and Orange County. This will provide us with new resources to serve the churches and people of faith in Southern California.”

PJI affiliate attorney Pete Lepiscopo, who will head the new office, commented, “It has been very rewarding for my firm to work with PJI for several years on key church land-use cases, the Mt. Soledad cross case, the Ten Commandments and Pledge of Allegiance cases, and countless other legal matters. This new venture will allow us to train more law students for this important work and help more people than ever before.”

Pacific Justice Institute receives no government funds of any kind and relies entirely on contributions from people and churches that share its mission.
