Media Liaison
Pacific Justice Institute (PJI) has an opening for a Media Liaison to work out of the Garden Grove office. PJI is the leading faith-based non-profit organization across the country, providing high quality legal representation to clients, without charge, in the defense of religious freedom, parental rights, sanctity of life and other civil liberties.
PJI handles hundreds of requests for assistance annually and has empowered individuals, families, and ministries through major case victories. The non-profit also has media coverage on their own syndicated daily TV show, a radio show heard on over 800 radio stations across America, and a commentary heard on over 1000 stations. Purpose of the Position
The role of the Media Liaison is to strengthen the relationships with media outlets relevant to the strategic goals of the organization-leading to an increase in our distribution of radio/television and media stories pertaining to PJI’s mission. This person will operate with a high degree of independence in undertaking the duties of the position. Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, the role will collaborate with the entire administrative team of PJI.
Media Liaison duties include:
- Distribution of media materials including press releases, fact sheets, website copy, relevant media updates
- Liaising with journalists, media outlets and other media distributors
- Coordination of media events
- Working with PJI officers in achieving major media and campaign objectives
- Contribute to expanding and developing press contacts and informing/engaging journalists and media outlets to the work of PJI
- Respond to a variety of daily requests for information and interviews, using established baselines
- Coordinate interviews
- Other media related initiatives as they come up from time to time
Qualifications:
- 1 or more years of office administration experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Calendar and Gmail
- Basic knowledge of using/navigating CRMs
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Team and mission oriented
- Strong ability to work independently
Pay: $25.00 – $27.00 per hour
