HR Operations Assistant
Pacific Justice Institute (PJI) has an opening for an HR Operations Assistant to work out of our Garden Grove, CA office. PJI is the leading faith-based non-profit organization across the country, providing high-quality legal representation to clients, without charge, in defense of religious freedom, parental rights, the sanctity of life, and other civil liberties.

Purpose of Position:
Pacific Justice Institute (PJI) is seeking an organized, detail-oriented HR Operations Assistant to join our team in the Garden Grove, CA office. The HR Operations Assistant will work closely with the Assistant Director of Operations to support the smooth and efficient functioning of PJI’s operations. This role will assist in key HR and administrative functions, ensuring compliance with employment laws and supporting recruitment, onboarding, and employee record management efforts.
HR Operations Assistant duties include:
- Carry out clerical duties such as answering/screening phone calls, responding to live chats, and responding to emails
- Data input and maintenance of donor platform (CRM)
- Support the operations team in ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations. Assist with generating and maintaining HR reports, including turnover, headcount, and other key metrics as needed.
- Assist with recruitment efforts, including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications.
- Maintain and update employee records, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
- Help process new hires, including preparing onboarding materials and ensuring completion of necessary paperwork.
- Other HR and administrative duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Operations.
Qualifications:
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in human resources or a related administrative role.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Calendar, and Gmail.
- Basic knowledge of CRM systems and the ability to navigate and input data accurately.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.

Pay: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour
